Keeping 4 Little Girls Off The Street
America’s Warrior Partnership and The Independence Fund August 2023
“I’m reaching out to you with a time-sensitive, urgent request. I have a veteran I’m working with who is facing eviction/removal by the sheriff as of tomorrow, 8/11/23.
- Purcell is a USAR vet, deployed twice to Afghanistan, and currently has a 70% disability rating. She was recently divorced (May) and her husband, in retaliation, stopped sending support for their two children (ages 4 and 9). The veteran had additional childcare expenses for the summer, which made her financial situation even worse. The veteran is employed full-time, was recently promoted, and is able to manage her rent moving forward if we can prevent this eviction from happening.
The veteran needs $4,328.00 to prevent becoming homeless with her girls.
The veteran has been trying to get assistance since July with this need – and has been shuffled around from one organization to another until I received the case earlier this week. I’ve reached out to multiple orgs and no one is responding… and I’m almost out of time to find a resource. I’m still hoping one will reach out, but I wanted to at least get your eyes on this in the meantime, just in case.”
“Frank Sennes is a post 9/11, combat deployed, Marine Corps veteran with a wife and two daughters. Veteran Sennes and his family were evicted from a trailer that they were renting last week. We are working with the local community to get them enrolled into transitional housing so that they can be stable again.”
We paid four nights at Best Western Augusta.
