Bob Hogan was a good friend, mentor, and TDF supporter.  I first met Bob in 2008 at the launch of ThunderCat Technology.  He knew I was a novice at government contracting and shared many insights those first few years.  Most recently he helped launch our now thriving commercial practice at ThunderCat and helped me update our Code of Conduct.  We shared a passion for good cigars and Jimmy Buffett tunes. We smoked together in Virginia, New Orleans, NYC, Mexico, Jamaica, and at his son’s wedding.  He was an Annapolis grad and I am West Pointer, so one year for ARMY-navy football game he rolled up to my tailgate with a custom t-shirt he had professionally made that said “ThunderCat Tech says GO NAVY, Beat Army”. He was so proud of himself as he strutted around and we just laughed and laughed.

Gone too soon, he was a good man and I will miss him.

I am proud to provide this page as a tribute to a great man and invite his friends and family to contribute to our mission in Bob’s name. The Bob Hogan Memorial Fund.

If you are visiting for the first time or didn’t know Bob, here is a quick BIO:

CAPT Robert “Bob” Hogan II was born in San Diego, CA in 1951. He graduated from the US Naval Academy in 1974 and was commissioned as a Surface Warfare Officer. He retired from active duty in 1998, serving as the Commanding Officer of the Philadelphia Naval Yard during his twilight tour. As a civilian he worked as a manager/director at CSI and 3eTI before finding his second career at Knight Point Systems in 2006. He passed away suddenly from a heart attack in September 2019, a month after he retired for the second time. He had a son, daughter, and grandson that he was VERY proud of, talked about their accomplishments all the time, and loved very much.

Any donations will go to supporting our mission providing aid to children of wounded warriors and fallen heroes. By donating you will be helping American Veterans’ families in crisis.
