Code of Support Partnership: Preventing Homeless Family

TDF partners with Code Of Support on a number of different cases ranging from:

  • Mortgages
  • Christmas presents
  • Utility bills
  • Car payments
  • Rent
  • Moving costs

The Code of Support Foundation (COSF) provides essential and critical one-on-one assistance to those struggling service members, veterans and their families who have the most complex needs. We are dedicated to leveraging the nation’s full spectrum of resources to ensure all members of our military, veterans and their families receive the support services they need and, through their collective sacrifice, have earned. http://www.codeofsupport.org/

One particular case in 2014 involved a wounded warrior with 3 Deployments (Bosnia, and Iraq x 2).  His injuries included lumbar/cervical damage (vehicle rollover) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

They had 3 little boys (5, 4 and 8 months).  He was getting treatment and PTSD/TBI and expected his VA rating will be increased to 100% within 60-90 days. But it was taking time.  Meanwhile they were 5 months behind on their mortgage – $13K  – TDF paid to keep them in their home preventing a homeless family.
